Marc Frazer Partner
Marc has more than 20 years of experience in public affairs, philanthropy, lobbying and communications on education issues. In his time at Education First he has served as a strategist for Complete College America, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the California State Senate. He was also deeply engaged with Microsoft, Boeing and others in the design and founding of the Washington State STEM Center, which aims to stimulate transformation gains in student learning.
Before joining Education First, Marc served as vice president of the Washington Roundtable, a public policy organization composed of chief executives, where he worked closely with the governor, legislators, the state superintendent and the state board of education to promote K-12 and higher education improvement.
As the first vice president for external affairs at Washington Mutual, Marc managed corporate giving to support education reforms nationwide. He directed the first-ever corporate contribution to The New Teacher Project and helped organize the 2005 National Education Summit with the nation's governors and top business leaders. Before that he served as communications director for Washington's state education agency. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards and appointed commissions, and he is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children.
Marc has taught at the University of Washington and is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He has two young daughters, and lives in Seattle, Washington.
