Greater Texas Foundation Strategic Plan

Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) supports initiatives that increase rates of postsecondary enrollment and completion for all Texas students, with a particular focus on students who may encounter barriers to postsecondary success. In 2019, GTF asked Education First to develop its next strategic plan for 2019–24, taking into account its accomplishments over $90 million in grantmaking as well as opportunities for growth. Using an equity framework to guide our research, we examined the landscape of high-school-to-postsecondary transition and success (for both traditional and non-traditional students) with a focus on the students Greater Texas Foundation seeks to serve, particularly rural communities, adult learners, first-generation college students and community college students. The plan set forth new goals, strategies and activities; a new metrics framework to measure the Foundation’s progress over time; and refreshed grantmaking tools.
