Juan Jimenez

Juan joined Education First in 2023 as a Senior Consultant for the Engaged Students team. He has worked to support a high-quality education for students of color and multilingual students over the last 12 years. Juan has supported multiple school districts with the adoption and implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) both as a practitioner and consultant.  

Juan’s experience spans working in public schools, charter schools, and education nonprofits that support K12 education. Before joining Education First, Juan worked as a Director of Academics with TNTP where his work focused on supporting school systems with learning acceleration and curriculum implementation best practices. Before joining TNTP Juan served as a school leader in the Uplift Charter Network in Dallas-Fort Worth. As a school leader Juan was a part of a leadership team that led an F-rated turnaround campus that improved to a B-rating in an academic year. Prior to this experience Juan taught in dual-language education settings and coached and developed first and second year teachers in Dallas ISD and Fort Worth ISD through Teach For America.  

Juan is a first-generation college graduate who received his B.A. in Communications and Sociology from California State University, Fullerton. Juan also earned his M.A. in Education Leadership from the University of North Texas. When Juan is not working, he loves spending time with his wife and two daughters. Juan is an aspiring home chef, enjoys hiking, cycling and exploring neighborhoods in his new home of Chicago, Illinois.
