MeMee is an associate on the outstanding educator’s team primarily responsible for research and policy analysis related to educator diversity, retention, and preparation. As a previous educator in career and technical education, MeMee envisions environments where every student is set up for success post-high school. This involves putting data and equity at the focus of strategy to address and solve systemic injustices in our current national education system. She is passionate about quality teacher development and policy practices that improve experiences.

MeMee began teaching right after gaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Science, by enrolling in a program through the Regional Alternative Licensing Center (RALC) in North Carolina. While teaching, MeMee found her passion for instructional leadership and technology and pursued her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University. She then became an instructional coach for career and technical education, specializing in career and college pathways, teacher licensing, and instructional practices and preparation, leading to her advocacy for equitable policy work in the field!

In her free time, she enjoys documentaries and reading. You can also find her at the area’s nearest live music or art show!
