Carl leads Education First’s finance, business development, analytics and technology teams to ensure the firm’s growth is aligned with its mission. His work reflects a career-long commitment to high-quality public schools—a passion that took root during his leadership roles at the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools and the Broad Foundation.

Since first joining the firm in 2016 as a Senior Consultant, Carl now serves as Partner and Chief Finance & Revenue Officer, leveraging his expertise on operations and systems, school turnarounds and high-impact philanthropy.

Before Education First, he served as a Program Officer at the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, where he managed investments to expand high-quality public schools, and as a Senior Director at the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, one of the district’s most successful turnaround partners.

Carl holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from UC San Diego. He also is an alumnus of the Broad Residency in Urban Education and enjoys working out, golf and spending time with his wife and two kids.
