Apply for Grants to Support SEL Innovation

Education First, in partnership with the NoVo Foundation, once again seeks applications for teacher-led and district-level projects that foster social and emotional skills in students in grades PK-12.  We will award up to $5,000 to individual teachers or teacher teams and up to $25,000 for district-level grants to implement an innovative project in their classrooms, schools and/or districts in the 2019-20 school year.

Over the past three years, we have distributed $2.3 million to support 182 SEL projects across the country. For the first time, this year we will also award a small, select number of two-year grants. Both teacher-led and district-level applicants may choose to be considered for a two-year grant by indicating so in their application and providing additional information as requested in the application.

Please forward widely to your networks locally and nationwide. We are aiming to fund innovative, culturally responsive SEL practices and initiatives in classrooms, schools and districts grounded in values of compassion, imagination and social justice.  Here is some sample language to use on social media:

  • Teachers: Want up to $5,000 to support #SEL in your classroom? Apply here: http://bit.ly/sel2019
  • New funding opportunity: Innovative, local projects to foster social and emotional learning #SELinAction http://bit.ly/sel2019
  • 90 teachers and 34 districts received #SELinAction Innovation Awards last year. Will you be next? http://bit.ly/sel2019

The RFP and application materials can be found here. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 22 at 11:59pm PT.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks in advance for your help.
