Farash Foundation City-Wide Teacher Pipeline Analysis

We conducted an analysis of Rochester’s teacher pipeline for the Farash Foundation to identify gaps in the teacher talent ecosystem that must be addressed in order to create more quality seats for children in Rochester, New York. This research project included both quantitative and qualitative research on local teacher supply and demand as well as a national landscape scan of successful investments in teacher pipeline strategies. The initial phase culminated in a set of recommendations to the Foundation, inclusive of strategies and performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of those strategies. We are now working closely with the foundation and local stakeholders to support a set of workgroups charged with implementing the recommended strategies.

This report includes quantitative and qualitative analysis of the Rochester, NY teacher pipeline and shares a set of potential strategies for improving the diversity and quality of teachers in the city.
